Foster School of Business MBA Program was ranked in the top 10 for innovative curriculum and 9th best public school by BusinessWeek
The University of Washington Michael G. Foster School of Business full-time MBA program was ranked in the top 10 among national business schools by BusinessWeek in "Innovative Curriculum" and "Most Improved" specialty areas, according to their poll of corporate recruiters.
These specialty business rankings were part of BusinessWeek's 2008 biennial ranking of "The Best B-Schools"in which the Foster School ranked 9th among public institutions and 27th overall among national universities both public and private. No other business school in the Pacific Northwest was ranked.
To select top programs, BusinessWeek uses three criteria: MBA surveys, recruiter polls and faculty research. According to the magazine, the MBA surveys and the recruiter polls each contribute 45% to the final ranking, with the intellectual-capital ranking contributing the final 10%.
Comments gathered from Foster School graduates featured on BusinessWeek’s Web site highlight the Foster School’s collaborative environment, world-class academics, and location. One Foster alum commented, “Lots of people are beginning to talk about how MBA programs need to generate more team-oriented, emotionally intelligent MBAs. While everyone else is talking about it, the UW is actually doing it. If you're looking for a place to not only gain a good education, but also the skills to become a trusted, ethical and good leader the University of Washington is the place.”
