MBA Career Services for Evening Students
MBA Career Services provides:
- Career assessment and coaching in internal and external career management.
- If you are employed, we can help you explore how to maximize the value of your MBA within your company, or how to use it to change careers within your company.
- If you are seeking employment due to job loss, we can help you with your job search.
- For those who wish to recruit through MBA on-campus recruiting, you will want to talk to a coach to make sure this is the appropriate market for you. Many of our evening students earn much more than they would earn in jobs for which companies recruit on campus. If you do decide this is the option for you, MBA recruiters expect a certain minimum level of preparation. For MBA internships, you must have completed your evening first year core classes before you start your internship. For MBA full time recruiting, you must have completed all your core classes to be eligible for on-campus recruiting for full time and you must be available to begin work on the recruiting company’s timelines.
- In order to upload your resume to any Foster MBA resume book, Foster MBA resume collects or for the MBA Focus resume book for the Foster School of Business, your resume must be in the Foster MBA resume template. Mock interview training is required before interviewing for jobs handled through the on-campus recruiting and resume collects to ensure your success in this very competitive arena and to ensure the employers’ positive experience with recruiting Foster MBAs. Please attend “Leveraging MBA Career Services” at any time or see an MBA Career Services coach for more information about these timelines and your unique circumstances.
- Networking opportunities – Evening MBAs are welcome to attend all networking events held to introduce firms and alumni to students which include Meet the Firms, Fireside Chats and Spring and Fall Forums.
- Road Shows and Treks (career oriented trips to other cities in the U.S.) Please note that we cannot contribute any resources to these trips if your employer is paying any of your tuition.
- The Mentor Program – The timing of your participation in the Mentor Program mirrors the timing for full time students. First years are eligible for the Mentor program for first years and second year students are eligible to participate in the Mentor Program for second year students.
