Leader Briefings

The six-city Asia leadership research project was jointly coordinated with the Gallup Organization in Singapore as well as the Singapore Ministry of Manpower who funded this project.  The main purpose for conducting the Asian six-city survey and executive interviews was to obtain a point in time assessment of the “collective” leadership profile of six of the most dynamic cities on earth. The six cities included in this study were Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and Bangalore. In each city, we identified a representative sample of approximately 300 full-time employees, who worked directly or indirectly for top management in their respective organizations.

In the pages that follow in this report, we provide an overview of our findings comparing each city to all others, as well as overall averages for the combined six cities. We begin by providing descriptive data on the sample characteristics within and between each of the respective cities.  We then examine the general overall findings in terms of the survey scales as well as sample items for each respective scale. We further examine the data by examining differences in survey responses based on gender, tenure, and the education level of the survey respondents.
