Venture Capital Investment Competition

Step one:
Take ENTRE 542
Step two: Compete with a team

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship's annual Venture Capital Investment Competition turns the tables on a traditional business plan competition. Instead of students pitching their own ideas to investors, students act as investors and outside entrepreneurs will pitch ideas to them. Each team acts as a venture capital firm, selecting a company to invest in and negotiating a realistic term sheet. Teams are judged by a panel of real venture capitalists and investors.

WHEN: January 2010
WHO: Teams of UW graduate students (must take ENTRE 542)

Regional and Final Competitions
At the Venture Capital Investment Competition, one team is selected to represent the University of Washington at the Regional VCIC, which can lead to the highly competitive VCIC International Finals. In the past five years, the UW has been a powerhouse at the International VCIC, winning first place twice and second place once.
