Entrepreneurship Graduate Certificate 
 

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s certificate in entrepreneurship prepares University of Washington MBA and science graduate students for the world of start-ups and new technology enterprises. Students can make a difference within an existing firm or learn how to launch a new company.

Certificate experience
Take classes, gain real-world experience and network with Seattle and regional entrepreneurs. Foster MBAs and other UW graduate students attend classes together, collaborate and bring ideas to life through competitions, technology commercialization, consulting or business partnerships as alumni. Foster MBAs receive a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. UW engineering, medical, law or other graduate students receive a Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate.

REQUIRED CLASSES

18 credits minimum are required for the entrepreneurship certificate, including four classes below and two electives.

Gain real-world experience and network via Foster School entrepreneurial programs.

Business Plan Competition—Develop ideas for new ventures, earn seed money for start-ups, collaborate and meet entrepreneurial leaders.

Global Social Enrepreneurial Competition—Think locally and act globally. Develop new business models, network with local players and gain experience in raising capital.

Environmental Innovation Challenge—Act and plan for a sustainable and green planet. Theme is clean tech with an optional emphasis on water. Creative solutions welcome.
