Meet Blake Strickland

Name:  Blake Strickland

Major:  Accounting and Information Systems

Hometown: Mukilteo, WA

Activities:  I am currently a member of the Undergraduate Management Consulting Association and involved in Global Business Brigades at UW.  Last summer I worked as a fellow for Lumana Credit in Ghana for 2 months I enjoy running, cheering for Husky sports (most of the time), case competitions, and playing trombone in a worship band.

Why Foster?:  Born and raised in the Seattle area, I always wanted to be a Husky. In college, I wanted a major that utilized my strong math and personal skills as well as allowed me to study and compete alongside bright, motivated students. I am constantly overwhelmed with the opportunities presented here at a prestigious university in the northwest, and inspired by dedicated faculty and hardworking students.

Over Summer Break...  I plan on getting an advisory internship in Seattle with a big four accounting firm.

After graduation, I plan to...  Get my Certificate in Public Accounting, gain valuable corporate experience, and work for a start-up.

Advice to future students:  Get involved! Don’t spend all your time on Facebook, get involved in clubs, leadership opportunities, internships, and events.

Favorite place to study:  Reading room, Suzzallo Library

Favorite place to eat on the Ave:  Thai Toms followed by bubble tea at WOW
