Retail Day

Retail Day is an annual event at the Foster School, now in it's 10th year. The event is one in which retailers can show the fun and attractiveness of Retail Management as a career path, in a fun atmopsphere.  Participation is free, but each company is asked to provide an activity that helps showcase the industry or their company in an entertaining way.  Usually 800 - 1000 students and 25+ companies attend. Space is limited

Since retail affects many aspects of business and provides a outstanding employment opportunities, Retail Day is an perfect chance for employers to show their company culture in a relaxed environment and enjoy time with potential employees. It is a great way to talk and understand students on a more personal basis. At more "generic" career fairs, the atmosphere  is often chaotic and less cognizant of  concept of what Retail really is.  Retail Day is not like that - only Retailers attend and students coming to the event are well aware.. Resumes are collected and information is exchanged but it is all done at this relaxed and fun event.

Features of Retail Day:
Participants are allowed early access to Balmer Hall to set their tables up.  The event extends from late morning to early afternoon to attendance by a maximum number of students. It is April 13, the day before Career Day.  Therefore, guests can easily transition that event the next day if they wish.

In addtion to tabling and interaction with students, there is a raffle and fashion show. Student models display looks from vendors in attendance and the audience enjoys the presentation.
