When are applications accepted?
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Early application deadline is February 1 and the final application deadline is May 1 for classes entering in the fall of the same year. A few applications are accepted after the final deadline on a space available basis.
Who should apply by the February 1st deadline?
International applicants must apply by this date. Applicants who earned an undergraduate degree outside Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the United States are encouraged to apply by this date. Non-US citizens are required to satisfy the UW English language proficiency requirement.
How are students selected for admission?
Students are selected based on an overall evaluation of their applications. A significant factor in selection is an applicant’s potential contribution to the program based on professional and management experience. We seek to create a diverse student cohort that represents a wide range of states, industries, companies and positions.
How much does the program cost?
The fee for the 21-month program for students starting in fall 2008 is $71,500. The program fee includes textbooks and course materials, meals and lodging at Residence Sessions, parking and lunch on class days, food and refreshments at hosted social functions, and traditional courtesies.
What is NOT included in the program fees?
Travel to and from the residencies, incidental costs at each Residence Session (e.g., phone calls, laundry, souvenirs) and the International Study Seminar.
Is an undergraduate degree required for admission?
A few non-degreed applicants with outstanding work experience may be admitted each year. We evaluate candidates on a case-by-case basis.
Is the GMAT required?
The GMAT is required for admission. It is used as one of the measures to identify an applicant's potential performance in graduate management education. For more information about the GMAT, visit their Web site at mba.com
Is there a limit on how many times I can take the GMAT?
No. You are allowed to take the GMAT as many times as you like. The admissions committee will only consider the highest score that is submitted by the application deadline.
Is an interview required?
Interviews are conducted after an initial review of your application and can take place several ways. The applicant can come to the UW campus, the interview can be completed over the telephone, or an interview can be scheduled with an EMBA Admissions representative at your location if we are visiting that area.
Are there any prerequisites?
No. However, we may recommend a completion of the Math and Excel workshops for admitted students who may need to brush up on their quantitative skills.
How much emphasis is placed on the undergraduate GPA?
The admission committee evaluates each section of the application carefully. At times, we may refer to your undergraduate coursework for evidence of previous academic achievement or demonstration of strong quantitative skills. The admission committee understands that most applicants have been out of school for some time, so therefore, we will place more emphasis on an applicant’s career progression and achievements. We will also consider any post-secondary education experience as well.
Is financial aid available?
There are two sources of loans for Executive MBA students:
Federal Stafford Direct Loan
Private MBA Tuition Loan

Is there a difference in the diploma received for the EMBA than from the other MBA Programs?
