Business Mentoring Connections Program

How can we close the gap between the worlds of school and work? In 2006, the CISB Alumni Council started an exciting new mentorship program called Business Mentoring Connections (BMeC) to address this question.

BMeC is designed to help CISB students prepare for the world of work through a focus on self-awareness and personal growth and development, with the guidance of talented mentors from the business community. CISB students are paired one-on-one with a mentor and they meet regularly over the course of the academic year. Now in its third year, the program has benefited more than 60 students as well as mentors. Students get the guidance they need and mentors develop their coaching skills while helping students grow and learn.

Jason Richards"CISB students are at a different level. They are overachievers who wholeheartedly care about learning and their careers. They go above and beyond in everything they do, and it shows in their demeanor, work ethic and professionalism. Working with the CISB program is an inspiration."
- Jason Richards, President of Project Bionic and Mentor, CISB Business Mentoring Connections
"This program develops skills that are crucial to managers:  listening, patience and developing the overall person."
